Helping you so your friends and family understand your speech

Who might need speech therapy?

Speech therapy focuses specifically on the clarity of your speech and the ability to produce speech sounds more accurately. This type of therapy is designed to help individuals improve the clarity, fluency, and quality of their spoken communication.

What might speech therapy look like?

Speech therapy may focus on learning the correct placement of the tongue, lips and teeth to produce specific sounds. Sessions will consist of repetition and drills of practicing sounds, syllables, words and phrases. Therapy may also involve techniques to regulate speech rate for individuals who speak too quickly or too slowly. Therapy will be functional and relevant to everyday life. This may involve role-playing real life conversations or practicing public speaking. The goals of speech therapy are to improve clarity of speech and help individuals feel more confident in their ability to speak clearly and effectively in various settings.
